Toning the Abdomen!

This 25-year-old woman wanted to tighten and tone her tummy. While she’s an avid gym-goer, she has never been able to fully get the definition on her tummy that she wanted. The CoolTone helped her get definition and tone in her stomach. She is going to continue her maintenance treatments with CoolTone and come in for monthly treatments.

DIY Headbands for Healthcare Heroes

Headbands for Healthcare Heroes

Healthcare workers are going the extra mile and working endless hours to protect us, and we must give back to them. If you are looking for a way to help out during this time, but aren’t sure how we have the perfect craft for you! We call this craft “Headbands for Healthcare Heroes. These headbands help to keep the healthcare worker’s hair out of their face, and the buttons hold the strap for their masks, which can irritate their ears during their long-hour shifts. This craft is fun, easy and can be done right from the comfort of your own home! It’s time to put your creative hat on and give this craft a try!

1. Find headbands (Walmart, Target, online, in your closet, ask your community)

2. Find (cute) buttons (Walmart, Target, online, in your closet, ask your community)

3. Measure out 3.5 inches from the seam of the headband, mark with a marker- this is where your buttons will go

4. Sew the button on with a needle and thread

Healthcare workers are facing a huge problem with severe shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other critical medical supplies. You may personally know someone working on the frontlines to donate your headband. If not, Masks For Heroes is an organization working hard to end the global shortage of PPE during the COVID-19. They have built a database of PPE requests from facilities around the world, and open it up to groups and individuals who have supplies to donate. Through their website (www.masksforheroes.com), donors can research facilities in need, and send donations. Your donation is greatly appreciated, whether that be 1 headband or 100, every single one counts!

4 Tips To Put Some Pep Back In Your Step During Quarantine

Having a hard time staying motivated?

It can be easy to fall into a slump and become unmotivated, especially now, when you are confined to your house all day. Many of us are trying to make the best of this temporary new way of life, but it can be challenging to continue to stay motivated. The world has presented us with new challenges, but we’re all in this together. We’re here to help you with some suggestions on how you can put that pep back in your step!

1. Stick to a Routine

    • During a time when there is so much uncertainty, it is so important to keep up with a schedule and routine to help you feel more in control and at ease.
    • Don’t let yourself fall into a pattern of sleeping in and staying up late. Stick to your morning routine – set your alarm for your usual time, shower, eat, and get dressed as if you were going out (you can dress down but make sure to get out of your pajamas).
    • Make sure you have a productive working space in your home. This space should mentally prepare you for work mode, whether it’s a seperate room, a desk set up in your living room, or a laptop at the end of the kitchen table. Try to make sure this space is seperate from where you would go to relax like your bedroom or couch.
    • Set your goals for the day, write them down, and put them into action! By writing down your goals, you are 42% more likely to achieve them.
    • Try and “normalize” your everyday routine as much as possible this will help you be as productive as possible!

2. Connect Digitally

    • Not being able to hang out with friends and family has been hard for most of us and can get lonely at times. Many people have developed new ways of staying connected, even while complying with public health guidelines.
    • Zoom is a video communications app that allows you to connect with others virtually! Whether you’re looking to join a live workout class or meet up with friends for a virtual happy hour, Zoom is there to help you stay in touch while social distancing.
    • If you’re looking for an easy and quick way to connect with others, FaceTime is a great option that can be done right from your phone. One of the great things about this option is that it supports up to 32 users at once (talk about a social distancing party).
    • It’s essential to stay connected socially, as this is one of the most important drivers of one’s well-being, especially now when we cannot see one another face to face.

3.  Check-In With Yourself

    • There is so much going on all around us, and it can be a lot to take in. It is essential to take a step back and check-in with yourself.
        • We came up with a checklist to help you make sure you are practicing self-care. Below is a list of daily questions to ask yourself:
          1. What emotions are you experiencing today?
          2. How will you put yourself first today?
          3. How are you moving your body today?
          4. Who are you connecting with virtually today?
          5. What are you grateful for today?
          6. How are you bettering yourself today?
        • Self-care is self-love, set aside as little as 15 minutes every day to answer and reflect on these questions.

4. Join an Exercise Challenge

    • It can be hard to motivate yourself to exercise when you’re stuck inside 24/7, but just because you don’t have fancy gym equipment doesn’t mean you can’t find ways to push yourself at home.
    • People are finding creative ways to work out and be accountable for each other. Check out this list of workout challenges you can join:
      1. Heather Robinson is a personal trainer, fitness cover model, and lover of all things health and wellness. She is offering a FREE 28 day at home workout challenge on Youtube. Check it out here.
      2. Run Club is a virtual run club where people set goals and keep one another accountable. Everyone that joins will set a run goal of how many miles they want to run in April. Check out all the details here.
      3. Instagrams 100 challenge is a great way to get in shape during this quarantine. Whether it be burpees, crunches, or push-ups, this challenge works by choosing an exercise of your choosing and doing 100 reps of it. Post a video of you doing the exercise of your choosing and tag your friends to do the same.
    • There are many ways you can still exercise during the quarantine. For more inspiration, Pinterest has many at-home exercises you can do from the comfort of your own home.

Staying productive at home can be tough, especially when you’re all alone. We are living in a time of uncertainty that can feel unsettling, we want to encourage you to keep going, and we hope that these tips can help you out! Remember, we’re all in this together, and we need to pick one another up!

At Home Guide to Surviving COVID-19

With the emergence of COVID-19, we’ve had to make adjustments to the way we go about our everyday lives. Adjusting to new societal norms can be tough for many of us, but we must sacrifice ‘normal’ for a while to flatten the curve. If you are looking for ways to stay entertained (and not go insane) at home, you’ve come to the right place!

1. Get Some Exercise

    • It is important to make sure you are staying active to warrant a healthy mind and body. Whether you go for a walk around the block, turn up the tunes and dance around, or do an online virtual class, there is no excuse not to be active. Below is a list of free online classes you can do right from your home!
      1. Slash Fitness
        • If you’re ready to get your heart rate going, Slash fitness is the workout to do! Slash Fitness is a combination of traditional style lifting and high-intensity interval training. You can find virtual classes on their Facebook page. Now you can work out from the comfort of your own home!
      2. Planet Fitness
        • Planet Fitness has found a way to bring the gym to you with their “Home Work-Inns,” which are free for everyone! They live stream every day at 7 pm CT on their Facebook page.
      3. Core Power Yoga
        • Yoga is a perfect tool to help you decompress and ease your mind during this stressful time. Core Power Yoga is offering its on-demand exercise and wellness classes for free. Click here if you’re all about the namaste!
      4. Barry’s Bootcamp
        • This unique boot camp, popular among many celebrities, includes high-intensity workouts. The company is streaming two new workouts every day on their Instagram check them out here

2. Cultivate a Good Skincare Routine

    • Skincare doesn’t stop during quarantine! Take this time to clear out all of the skincare products that just aren’t giving you the results you’re looking for. ⁣
    • Delray Beach, FL dermatologist, Dr. Janet Allenby says her favorite serum category is SkinMedica’s TNS Essential Serum. This serum combines antioxidants, peptides, and growth factors to produce younger-looking skin. A survey found that 92% of people who used the TNS serum experienced smoother and more youthful skin.
    • SkinMedica is offering 30% off all products and FREE 2-day shipping for a limited time. Click here to take advantage of this deal!
    • While we practice ‘social-distancing,’ it’s so important to also practice self-care. Get into a good morning and night skincare routine because when we, look good we feel good!

3. Spring Cleaning

      • With all the extra time on our hands, why not get a jump start on spring cleaning.
        1. Clean Out Your Closet:
          • Spring and summer are approaching which means warmer weather, so it’s time to update your closet. Put away cold-weather clothing and free up space in your closet by donating worn out or out of style clothes.
        2. Reorganize Your Garden
          • Spring is a great time to get your garden ready. Seeds grow quickly during spring, so get out there and start planting trees and flowers.
          • Pulling weeds is no fun, but this will give you some exercise while also cleaning up the garden, just in time for summer!
        3. Clean, Clean, Clean
          • With the Coronavirus going around, it is essential to clean and disinfect your home.
          • Researchers have found that this virus can live on plastic and stainless steel for up to three days. Disinfecting the house is something we should all be doing.
          • Take an hour every day to disinfect your home. This will help lower your risk of infection and anyone else in your household.

4. Pick Up a New Hobby

    • With extra time in many of our daily schedules, now is the best time to pick up a new hobby!
      1. Explore Your Creative Side
        • There are endless amounts of crafts you can do while at home during this time such as knitting, scrapbooking, jewelry making, and/or drawing.
        • Pinterest is a great website to find more DIY crafts to keep yourself busy and relieve some stress during this time of uncertainty.
      2. Learn a New Langage
        • Have you ever wanted to learn a new language but could never find the time? Well, with lots more time on your hand, you can now!
        • There are many apps out there that can help you get a jump start on this. Our personal favorite is Duolingo and you can take advantage of this free program from the computer or by downloading their app. The app’s colorful interface and game-like exercises help motivate you and make the experience more fun!
      3. Do a Puzzle
        • Puzzles and games are the best way to keep you entertained, and the most difficult ones will keep you occupied for days.
        • It is vital to keep your brain stimulated during a time where there is not much to do, puzzles are great for this and can be done by yourself (if you’re in quarantine alone).
        • Puzzles have been said to decrease feelings of anxiety and increase mental well-being. Staying calm and easing stress is essential for our mental health right now when so much feels so wrong. With a few hours (or days) and a little determination, anyone can piece together a beautiful landscape.

Adjusting our daily lives and not having a routine can be scary for many of us. The best way to combat these feelings and emotions is to keep busy and try to ‘normalize’ daily routine as much as possible. We hope these ideas have inspired you to do something fun during this time of uncertainty. Remember that this time will pass, we must be kind to one another and not forget that we are all in this together!

What Happens to Your Muscles If You Don’t Continue Strengthening Them?

Strengthen Your Muscles, or You’ll Lose Them…

The CoolTone device is designed to bring your healthy lifestyle to the next level. It can be hard and time-consuming to get to the gym every day while also managing your day-to-day activities. CoolTone is a revolutionary new technology that can increase muscle mass. This means you will look toned, feel stronger, and look slimmer with less effort than ever before. Results are obtained through your initial 4-6 treatments within two weeks. To maintain the results achieved from CoolTone, it is crucial patients come in for ‘maintenance’ treatments.

Many people do not realize that when you stop using (or sculpting) your muscles, you will very quickly lose strength. The longer you wait, the harder it is to get back to those strong, lean looking muscles. According to experts, it varies depending on your age and fitness level, but it may be quicker than you think.

Your muscles will not disappear entirely, but there will be a noticeable decrease in strength power. The decrease will not be a lot at first, but the longer you wait, the more strength you will lose. Muscle mass (the size of your muscles) begins to diminish after about four-six weeks of inactivity. This is why it is essential to follow up with your BodySquad specialist after 30 days and map out a ‘maintenance plan’ so you do not lose those newly toned muscles!
